How To Know If Someone Is Hacking My Iphone
6 Ways To Tell If Your iPhone Is Hacked
Everything you need to know to find out whether you've been a victim of iPhone hacking.
Our phones have become a huge part of our day to day lives, they've revolutionised the way we communicate with each other and the world around us. We hold all of our most sensitive, personal and private information on one device. So, when you start to suspect that your privacy might have been jeopardised, it can be a truly awful feeling.
But don't worry. We're here to help you. If something seems abnormal with your iPhone or iPad, then there's a chance you may have been hacked.
That's right. It sounds scary and, quite frankly, it is. If someone has hacked your phone, then they might have access to all of your personal details, your photos, videos, they could even track your physical location.
The whole lot. Out in the open.
We're not trying to scare you, but this is a very real problem. Don't risk your family's online security by overlooking the possibility that your personal data may have been swiped by a hacker.
In the following blog post, we've listed out 6 simple ways that will help you discover whether you've been hacked. Here's what you should look out for:
Signs your iPhone is hacked
By following and checking the points on this list, you can easily and quickly determine whether or not your iPhone has possibly been hacked. Please note that these are not definite signs and are just indicators of a potential security breach.
1. Your battery doesn't last as long as it used to
It's normal for a battery to wear down over time and become less efficient – but that's over a period of years. If you've only had your phone a few short months, then something's wrong.
A phone's battery draining too quickly can be a sign that there's something going on in the background. This could just mean that there's a setting you need to change, or it could mean that your device has been hacked and your privacy has been compromised.
2. You're using more data than usual
Now most of us don't use all of our data every month, but if you've been hitting your limit on a regular basis, that might be a sign that there's something fishy going on.
If you've been hacked, hidden software running on your iPhone could be connecting to the internet and passing your information onto third-parties, which will quickly munch through your data.
3. Your iPhone is acting weird
If you've been experiencing some unusual behaviour from your phone, or you've received some strange text messages, then that's a sign that something untoward is happening with your phone. That said, it can be normal to sometimes experience weird behaviour with apps that take a lot of processing power. Either way, it's one to look out for!
4. Someone has jailbroken your iPhone
This is a little more advanced, but if you've noticed some weird apps on your phone that weren't there before (namely an app called 'Cydia') then this likely means that your iPhone is jailbroken and it is a pretty sure sign you've been hacked.
Cydia is an app that requires physical access to the device in order to be installed and if you didn't install it, then it means someone else did.
Jailbreaking a device opens up a whole host of options for hackers to retrieve data and monitor your device remotely.
It's also worth mentioning that it is possible for hackers to hide this app even though the phone is actually jailbroken.
5. Enterprise or Developer apps are installed
With iOS, it's possible to get around Apple's security systems by allowing a device to use developer versions of software. This is usually reserved for apps that aren't ready to be released to the public yet, or if you work for a company that has an internal app for business use. Nonetheless, it can also be a way for hackers to get around the system.
If you have some apps installed on your phone that don't look right, or that you don't remember installing, then it's quite possible that your iPhone has been hacked.
6. Background noise or electronic interference
This one is pretty rare. We've all experienced normal interference whilst on a phone call (you know, the one that sounds like you're having a conversation with a 90s dial-up modem), but this is different.
Things like clicks, static and echoing noises are all tell-tale signs that someone is listening in on your calls.
How to check if your iPhone is hacked
So, you think your iPhone might be hacked – what can you do about it?
Wipe all your data? Get a new phone? Throw it in the trash? No, nothing that drastic thankfully!
You need a way to check your device to find out once and for all if you have actually been hacked. Once you know for sure, not only can you do something about it, but you can also find out who it was who hacked your iPhone in the first place.
Here's why Certo AntiSpy is the best way to protect your iOS smartphone:
- It's Quick & Easy! In under 2 minutes you can discover if your iOS device has been hacked, compromised or bugged!
- Spyware Detection. Using advanced detection techniques, you can quickly find out if you have a spyware infection on your device or not. Simple & definitive.
- Jailbreak Detection. Certo can detect if a jailbreak has been installed and security restrictions have been removed on your device, regardless of whether the hacker has tried to hide it or not.
- Tracking App Detection. Easily find out which apps are tracking your location or accessing your microphone or camera. Certo will also alert you if any apps are installed that are known to be used by hackers when tracking someone's location.
Why do I need Certo AntiSpy?
We created this software because we want to give people a way to keep their mobile devices protected. Here's why we think it's important for you to use Certo:
- Our phones run our entire lives. Most of us use our smartphones daily – hourly even. We store all kinds of personal and valuable information on them and that makes it incredibly important that we keep them protected.
- Hackers can monitor you from anywhere in the world. If your device's security is compromised then you can be tracked, monitored, listened to and watched from anywhere in the world.
- Texts, emails, calls, photos and videos are all at risk. If you've been hacked, all of that information and private media can be taken from your device and used for potentially nefarious reasons. A common tactic is to take embarrassing data and threaten to release it to all of your contacts unless you pay a hefty fee to a hacker.
- Hacking software is cheap. The software used by hackers can be incredibly cheap. For as little as $30, a hacker can get the spyware they need to infiltrate someone's device, retrieve information and monitor them remotely.
- Hacking isn't as hard as it used to be. Unfortunately, almost anyone can be a hacker now. That means anyone from an ex-partner to a business rival. Hacking isn't totally reserved for computer geeks and Russian teenagers anymore. All someone needs is access to your device for as little as 5 minutes.
